SoundHelix is platform-independent and able to remote-control any number of MIDI devices visible to the Java MIDI API in parallel. The available MIDI devices should be a combination of all MIDI devices provided by the operating system (either built-in MIDI devices or devices provided by additional drivers) plus the ones that Java itself provides.

SoundHelix has been reported to run successfully with various third-party software on various platforms. An excerpt is provided here.
